The first unlock you can get for the Recon class by playing co-op is the M39 EMR medium to long range sniper gun.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not a massive fan of the Recon class, but you do get some really cool gadgets that can help out the team when you level the class.
I have, however, found it quite difficult to level the Recon class, and thus get better guns and equipment - but a nice way to get a new gun is to actually play some co-op with a friend. At about 54000 co-op score, you unlock the M39 EMR semi-automatic rifle.
LevelCap did a very nice review for the gun in the video below, so if you want to play some Recon, and haven't decide which gun will be the one, check this out:
It's a semi automatic rifle, which is what I would prefer, and it take 10 rounds per clip, 11 if you have a round chambered as well. So as far as Recon guns go, this one is pretty easy to unlock, just get a friend and do some co-op missions!
Feel free to leave comments on your favourite Recon guns!
Flying the choppers is one of my favourite activities in Battlefield 3, and one of the very popular maneuvers is called "circle strafing" - it means to basically circle your target, while pointing at the target the whole time, so you can keep shooting the living daylights out of him! :)
Here's a nice tutorial video showing how to do it:
Check out this video, which shows how awesome the choppers can be with some decent teamwork. Also see them landing to repair the chopper - having a run like this is really lots of fun and just plain awesome!
Support is one of the 4 Battlefield 3 classes that you can play. Probably the highlight of the support class is the light machine guns they carry, as well as Ammo boxes, together with C4, Claymores and the Mortar.
I've also noticed that Support guys usually rack in the most kills in the battles, so if you like killing people, then the support class is excellent for you!
Here's another cool video from the guys at Elite Gamer Bros. giving some very nice tips and tricks on all the aspects of the support class:
The Attack Choppers is by far my favourite "vehicle" in Battlefield 3, especially when you have an able bodies co-pilot with you!
Some things that I have noticed:
ALTITUDE - this is probably your greatest defense while flying a chopper. Stay as high as you can until you engage.
LEARN TO LAND - I cannot remember how many times I have landed the chopper, got out, repaired it, got back in and back into the battle - you obviously need to be the Engineer, but this can really increase the impact you have in the battle.
DON'T FLY ALONE - I know it's not always possible, but whenever possible, make sure you have a gunner with you - they can also use flares, and the gun is strong enough to damage tanks and jeeps.
Lastly, check out this awesome video from the guys at Elite Gamer Bros:
This video is by the same guys, but covers the Havok, which is the Russion chopper - it flies a bit differently to the Viper, so it's worth it to have a look:
Once you get the hang of how to fly the choppers, it can be lots and lots of fun, so just keep at it, and remember, the 2nd Co-op mission is in a chopper the whole time, so get a friend and do that one as many times as it takes - the controls and everything is exactly the same as in the multiplayer!
I personally am not a fan of the Battlefield 3 Jets. I also kinda hate it when people who cannot fly the jets, actually fly them, because that is one less soldier on the battlefield. But, I want to add that if a guy knows what he's doing in the jet, he can really be an asset to the battle!
The guys from Elite Gamer Bros. compiled a few videos with some really valuable hints and tips on how to make the best of your flying experience, not only for you, but the team as well!
Hi guys, with the Back 2 Karkand expansion for Battlefield 3, Dice created a new game mechanic called Assignments - these have certain requirements or goals that you must get, and the rewards are really worth it.
Probably the easiest assignment to get, is the Assault one - now those who know me, know that I like to play the Assault class most, and with that I completed the Assault assignment quite quickly, and my reward was the FAMAS Assault Rifle.
See this excellent video on the gun itself:
To unlock this gun is really quite easy - you need 10 heals and 10 revives while playing the Assault class. (the assignment is called "Best Friend Forever".
When I unlocked the gun, I immediately switched over to it, and I must admit it is now my favourite gun! It has a rate of fire of 900 rounds per minute, which is pretty much the fastest firing gun in the game.
It also has 3 firing modes (single shot, 3-round burst and full automatic) - the clip takes a very nice 30 rounds (31 if you chamber a round as well).
The only drawback, which is also confirmed in the video clip above, is the long reloading time. Also, when you start off, the iron sight of the gun is terrible, so just stick to that first 10 kills to unlock the ACOG scope, it gets a lot better after that!
If you're used to quicker reloading weapons, this gun will take some time getting used to, and you'll probably have to change the way you play a bit to adjust, but in a few games you're already used to it (also good because it teaches you to use your sidearm more - since I've been using the FAMAS, I've got quite a few more kills with my sidearm :)
At the time of writing this, I've racked up about 90 kills, 20 of which were head shots, with a not-too-bad accuracy (for me at least!) of 15.4%
So, if you like playing Assault, keep healing and reviving your teammates, and you'll unlock this beauty in no time!
